Born of Accident
The current work is inspired by the repetition of patterns and textures found in the terrestrial, the cosmic, and various elements of the real world. It also draws from experimentation as an artist and from the nature of the medium itself, connecting it to those “perfect mistakes” found in nature.
One could argue that everything in the universe is an accident, and in the same way, the ink in these drawings is used as a controlled accident: spontaneous, yet at the same time planned and edited. This opens up a reflection on the possibility of an inherent order or intelligence that governs the laws of nature.
In the composition between the microscopic and the astronomical, between beauty and imperfection, each of the drawings is unique, just like everything that exists in the real world, yet they are all created under the same principles and materials. In this way, a dialogue is formed between the unrepeatable and the singular, and the idea of universal rules and patterns.
